Model wearing InvisalignWe have collated questions that are often asked about Invisalign, which we hope are useful.

Do you do Invisalign?

Yes, we do. We offer free initial consultations and Dr Mehwish Ahmed and Dr Gwyneth Morris are our main providers.

What is Invisalign and how does it work?

Here is a quick and informative video that Invisalign have provided for us to explain what Invisalign is and how it works (it will open in a new tab)

How much does it cost?

That is the total cost of the treatment and appointments and we also include three removable retainers to keep the teeth in the position they were moved to, after treatment is complete (they would usually be charged at an additional £300 in total).

How long does it take?

It will depend on what you need.  As a guide, treatment involves a maximum of  20 aligners and the average wear time is 1 week per aligner, depending on compliance and biology.

So, we can say up to 5 months, but each case is different and your dentist can give you a more accurate guide.

Is it suitable for everyone?

No, not always. If InvisalignGo is not suitable for you then we may refer you to a specialist for more complex work.

How long do I wear the retainers for?

22 hours a day and remove them to eat and drink.

Does it hurt?

It can be uncomfortable when you change aligners for about 24 hours.

How do I book in?

Book an initial consultation with Gwyneth or Mehwish, which can take up to 30 minutes .

How much is the first consultation?

It’s free, but we do ask for a £20 refundable deposit. If you want to go ahead with treatment, then we will talk you through the next steps and how you need to pay for them.

How do I pay for it after the first consultation?

Here is a quick summary of what we would expect the treatment process and associated costs to look like –

Appointment 1 – Free initial consultation

You will have photos taken and an orthodontic assessment of your mouth undertaken to see if you are suitable for InvisalignGo treatment.

If you wish to proceed further at this appointment you will be asked to go for an x-ray, taken at a different site, to ensure your teeth are suitable for orthodontic treatment.

You will be asked to pay £65 for the x-ray.

Appointment 2

Once the x-ray has been reviewed and suitability approved, the digital analysis (Clincheck) can be ordered. Impressions of your teeth are taken and sent off for the Clincheck to be carried out.

This will cost £200, paid at this appointment.

Appointment 3

The Clincheck is returned to the practice digitally for assessment and approval. You will be sent a copy by email and an appointment made for the dentist to talk through the proposed treatment.

Once you are happy with the proposed outcomes for your smile, you will be asked to approve the Clincheck, at which point the Aligners can be made.

A deposit of £1,000 is required at this appointment.

Appointment 4

The aligners are fitted and treatment commenced.

The remaining balance of £1,735 will be due in instalments throughout remaining treatments.

Can I use the aligners for whitening treatment?

Yes you can. The cost for teeth whitening is significantly reduced as the aligners can act as whitening trays. The cost for the whitening treatment is reduced to £125.

Can I apply for finance?

We have teamed up with Braemar Finance and are able to offer our patients 0% interest on the cost of InvisalignGo treatment, which can be spread across either 6 or 10 months. This is subject to application.
